Mr. 6 Foundation is a non-profit society in Vancouver that connects startups, investors and AI builders across borders and cultures, and publishes every cohort openly and free.
It exists to connect people the distance keeps apart: a founder in a city no fund visits, an investor on another continent, a builder solving the same problem in another language. And to do it at the speed the technology is moving.
Nobody is at fault for the gap. Introductions run on networks, networks form where people already are, and everyone outside them waits. What has changed is the cost of waiting: an AI cycle does not give anyone three years to be found.

What Mr. 6 Foundation does
Monthly open cohorts
Each month we put together a cohort of startups, investors and AI builders who should already have met, chosen deliberately across markets and languages. The cohort is published as a single issue, the way a journal publishes, rather than held in a closed room.
Cross-border introductions
The point of a cohort is the introductions inside it. A founder outside the funding hubs meets an investor who was never going to visit, and a builder meets the person solving the same problem in another language.
The open record
Every company we feature gets a written profile explaining what it does and why it was overlooked. The record stays free, permanently, with no login, so it travels further than the room it came from.
The connector network
Volunteers inside their own communities tell us who is being left out of the room. They are the reason the Foundation can see past the places it already knows, and they are never treated as a sales list.
Nomination, open to anyone
Anyone can nominate a company, an investor or an idea, including their own. No introduction, accelerator or credential is required, because requiring one would reproduce the exact problem the Foundation exists to solve.
What makes Mr. 6 Foundation different
We take no equity, and no fee of any kind
Accelerators typically take a single-digit equity stake in exchange for a place in a batch. We take none, and charge no application fee, listing fee or membership, because we are not buying anything and not selling a place.
A place cannot be bought, by anyone
Paid startup directories sell listings, and analyst matrices sell advisory to the same companies they place. Neither is available here. Sponsors fund the programme and never influence selection, and we say so on the page where we ask for money.
Everything is published, and stays free
A closed demo day reaches the people in the room. Our cohorts are published in full, permanently, with no login and no paywall, so a founder in another country can read the whole issue the week it appears.
Cross-cultural by design, not by accident
Most programmes concentrate geographically because their networks do. Cohorts here are assembled to mix markets and languages on purpose, which is the whole reason they surface companies the usual filters miss.
The reasoning is published alongside the choice
We do not publish a score or a ranking. Each profile says what the company does, what is verified, and why it was overlooked, so a reader can weigh the judgement and disagree with it. Rankings hide their reasoning. We print ours.
We take no equity, carry or success fee.
A place in a cohort is never for sale.
Sponsors never influence selection.
Connectors are never a sales list.

The team behind Mr. 6 Foundation
Mr. 6, founder
Mr. 6 is a writer and software engineer who has spent two decades inside the technology and startup world, building things and then explaining them to people who do not live in that world. Writing at that volume for that long produces an unusual vantage point: you notice which companies get written about, and which never do.
The Foundation began with one person asking the same question repeatedly, which is what we are missing, and deciding that commentary alone has a ceiling. It is deliberately personal and deliberately small.
How the Foundation is staffed
It is small on purpose. The work of finding people is done by the connector network, volunteers inside their own communities, rather than by a scouting team in one city. Selection and writing are done by people, and the reasoning is published rather than hidden behind a score.
Origin
Founded in 2026 and registered as a non-profit society under the British Columbia Societies Act, based in Vancouver. The first cohort, MISS-1, opens in Vancouver in January 2027.
How Mr. 6 Foundation works
Getting in
Anyone can nominate, including themselves. A connector may also put a name forward. There is no fee and no requirement to have an introduction, an accelerator or investor contacts.
Selection
Nominations are read by a person. Companies selected for a cohort are contacted directly, and the written profile is checked with them before it is published.
Who you deal with
A small team, and in most cases the founder directly. There is no account manager layer, because there is no account.

Is Mr. 6 Foundation free?
Yes, completely. There is no application fee, no listing fee, no membership and no paywall. Everything published stays free to read permanently, with no login.
Does the Foundation take equity in the companies it features?
No. We take no equity, carry or success fee from anyone in a cohort. We are not an investor and we do not broker deals. Accelerators typically take a single-digit equity stake in exchange for a place; we take nothing, because we are not buying anything.
Can a company pay to be included?
No. A place in a cohort cannot be bought, and neither can an entry in the record or a mention. Sponsors support the programme and never influence selection. If that is the arrangement you are after, we are the wrong people.
Who decides which companies are featured?
People do, not an algorithm and not a ranking. Selection reasoning is published alongside each profile, so anyone can read what we thought and disagree with it.
Do I need an introduction, an accelerator or investor contacts to apply?
No. The entire purpose is to reach people outside those networks. Self-nomination is welcome and is the most common route in.
Is the Foundation a registered charity?
No. It is a non-profit society registered under the British Columbia Societies Act, which means we cannot issue tax receipts for donations. We would rather say that plainly than have you find out later.
Where does the Foundation operate?
It is based in Vancouver, British Columbia, and works across borders by design. Cohorts deliberately mix markets, languages and cultures, and the published record is readable anywhere at no cost.
