Mr. 6 is a writer, a blogger and a software engineer who has spent almost thirty years inside the technology and startup world, most of it among startups, building things and explaining them to people who don't live in that world.

He was educated at Stanford University and the University of British Columbia. Back in the day he was part of a venture capital task force, and in the 1990s he took part in the startup competition at Stanford.

That vantage point is an unusual one. You notice which companies the spotlight finds and which it never does. You notice how often a deal happens because of proximity rather than merit. You notice how many people are one introduction away from a different life, and never get it.

MISS is what happens when noticing stops being enough. It is deliberately personal and deliberately small: a cohort a month, one conversation at a time, the same question asked a hundred times, and the answer left where anyone can read it.
